The ICS Singapore branch is pleased to announce that the DLC is fully operational and accepting enrolments
from prospective candidates who wish to prepare for the Institute examination.

We have entered into a partnership with International Trading Institute(ITI) @Singapore Management
University (SMU) to jointly develop and deliver the Institute’s Tutorship programme with the objective
of raising professional standards across the shipping industry.

The ICS-ITI Professional Shipping Programme and the ICS-ITI Foundation Shipping Programme
offer comprehensive education in the shipping sector and are modelled after the ICS distance learning
Tutorship Programme which leads to certification. The Professional Shipping Programme is intended to
prepare candidates to take the Professional Qualifying Examinations while the Foundation Shipping
Programme is suited for c andidates taking the Foundation Diploma of ICS.

CEO Pacific Shipping Trust (PST). PST was the first listed ship financing vehicle on the SGX. Took the company through successful IPO in May 06. During the two year term, close to doubled the asset base and the revenues.

Ron Wilson born and educated in South Africa moved to Singapore some 5 years ago where he is now a permanent resident.

He has been in the shipping industry for close on 30 years – 25 of those as a dry cargo shipbroker before his current position as an FFA broker.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbroker and holds a Diploma in Business Administration from Cape Teknicon majoring in Economics and Company Law. A former Director and Ship Broker with Clarkson’s South Africa and Senior Ship Broker at Lorentzen Stemoco Singapore he is now Senior Vice President Asia and Manager of the Dry FFA desk at IMAREX ( International Maritime Exchange) Singapore - brokering Freight Futures on a daily basis. He is a member of The Economic Society Singapore and The Baltic Exchange London.

He is a Tutor for the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Dry Cargo Chartering and Sale & Purchase and an Adjunct Lecturer at SMU –ITI/Shipping Business- lecturing in Dry cargo, Tanker Chartering, Sale & Purchase and Freight Futures.
