Mr Das is actively engaged in decarbonization strategy and stakeholder governance.
He has 19 years of leadership experience in a wide spectrum of shipping segments, including Container Shipping, Oil & Chemical Tankers, Dry Bulk Shipping, LNG Shipping, and ship management. As Executive Director of Samudera Shipping Line Ltd., he was responsible for annual revenue of ~ $550 M, and managed, from the Singapore head office, a geographically dispersed team across Dubai, Mumbai, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Incheon & Shanghai.
In the port sector, Mr Das has more than 7 years of leadership experience. As the President Director, he led the growth of a green-field multipurpose terminal and successfully negotiated with the Government of Indonesia to secure a 65-year concession as a public terminal. As the Vice President, Head of Overseas Terminals, he led Jurong Port’s overseas investments. As Vice President, Head of Energy Terminals, Jurong Port, he oversaw Singapore’s largest independent tank storage, with an installed capacity of ~ 3 million cubic meters.
As adjunct faculty at NTU, Mr Das taught Maritime Economics & Finance in Nanyang Business School’s EMBA program. He was the faculty mentor for the Live Industrial Consultancy Project. He supports the Asian Institute of Management’s career service office by regularly mentoring the MBA graduates.
