Students taking the TutorShip programme or classroom training leading to Foundation Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or PQE can avail of the subsidy. Eligible students will be granted co-funding support of up to 90%, based on a maximum of 7 modules for PQE or 2 modules for the Diploma. The subsidy can be claimed only after the candidate has been granted the Diploma or elected as a Member for PQE students. Under the application-less regime, students can make use of the MCF-CC self-assessment checklist to check their eligibility for MCF grant support. Eligible applicants can submit their claims within one year from the date of successful completion of the course. Students who have received MCF support are obligated to serve the maritime industry for 1 year after the course completion.
SkillsFuture Study Awards for Sea Transport
The SkillsFuture Study Awards for Sea Transport is an initiative under the SkillsFuture effort. It is to support and encourage early to mid-career Singaporeans to deepen their skills. It is a $5,000 monetary award, which Singaporeans can use to defray out-of-pocket expenses associated with the course that he/she will be taking. Students taking the TutorShip programme or classroom training leading to PQE can avail of the subsidy. Recipients do not need to serve a bond. Evaluation of applications will take about 8 weeks after the closing date.
